Jordyn Littlebird, a fourth-grader at Darlington School, helped her Oklahoma Athletics 2021 team win the USSSA Midwest National Championship in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Littlebird pitched a no-hitter, striking out the nine batters faced en route to claiming the Most Outstanding Pitcher Award.
Calumet High School graduate Kaleb Melvin (8) helped the Enid Majors win the 2021 Connie Mack World Series, held recently in Farmington, N.M.
The Majors went undefeated on the season at 36-0 including a 10-2 win over the Dallas-based D-Bat United squad in the title game.
The Majors went 7-0 in New Mexico and was the first team ever from Oklahoma to qualify for the World Series after winning the South Plains Regional.

El Reno High School graduates Riley Connor and Jaylin Reveles represented their alma mater last week as members of the West squads during the 2021 Oklahoma Coaches Association’s All-State Games.
Other than football, the games were contested in venues around the Tulsa area. El Reno was slated to have two players in the football game, which was held at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee.
The Indians have had one road scrimmage at Rush Springs and will play a preseason festival at Mustang on Friday and open the season Aug. 10 against Bishop McGuinness.
The Enid Outlaws recently won the 2021 The Basketball League (TBL) Championship in their first year of existence. The Outlaws defeated the Syracuse Stallions 129-108 and 120-107 to sweep the title series of the 29-team league.
Ten more teams are set to join the TBL in 2022.
The Outlaws are owned and operated by El Reno’s Jonathan Reed. The team is housed and practices out of OnPoint Hoops Academy in El Reno and plays home games
at the Stride Bank Center in Enid.

Last year’s changes to the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association’s manual for volleyball is giving El Reno High School’s program a slight break from chaotic pressures of preseason workouts.
El Reno started a week later from the OSSAA’s designated start date due to a switch in the overall length of the season.
“They added a week to the season last year and the way our school calendar falls, it adds in a few more days.
Matt Miller is having the best season of his drag boat racing career and now the El Reno driver can add two more titles to his bounty – both on his home course.
“This is my best season so far and I’m happy with the changes I’ve made,” said Miller.
Miller brought a new boat to the 2021 Smoke on the Water Drag Boat Races, a Cheyenne tunnel design built by Ervin Capps. With a huge cheering section behind him, Miller drove the bright orange craft to finals victories over friend and longtime rival Wade Kokendoffer of Choctaw.
El Reno High School’s softball team hit the ground running last week with two-a-day practices as the Indians have less than three weeks to get ready for the 2021 opener.
“We don’t have a lot of time to waste so we have hit the ground running. The first few days of two-a-day practices we have been throwing a lot of information at the girls and going over all the things we need to cover.
