John R. Edwards
John R. Edwards was born in St. Louis, Mo., on Feb. 11, 1937, to Oran Lyle and Mollie Josephine (Reynolds) Edwards. He was raised in Oklahoma City and lived in Bethany before moving to El Reno in 1977. He was a talented sign painter. He served in the Army Reserves and was a member of the American Legion.
John was a devoted and active member of First Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher, member of the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief and Royal Ambassadors, participated in the Awana and was a vacation Bible school volunteer bus driver.
