Graveside services for former El Reno resident Frances (Dorine) Zent will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2020, in the El Reno Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
Dorine died March 23, 2020, in Tucson, Ariz., with her family by her side. She was born Sept. 14, 1933, in El Reno.
She attended El Reno High School where she met and married Danny Ray Zent, deceased. Dorine and Danny moved shortly after their marriage to Tucson.
Graveside service for Mary King, 87, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the El Reno Cemetery Pavilion.
Viewing will be Sunday, May 31 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home.
Philip Shane York of El Reno passed away May 25, 2020.
Services are pending with Wilson Funeral Home.
Funeral services for George Clay Akeen Jr. of El Reno were held Tuesday with Dr. Michael Jenkins and Minister Reiko Jenkins officiating. Burial was in the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
George died May 21, 2020, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born Feb. 17, 1949, in Clinton. He attended school in Canton and lived in Gracemont before moving to El Reno. A Cheyenne Chief, he was a member of the Dog Soldier Society and was an Arrow Priest. He was also a minister and member of the Native American Church.
Graveside service for Catherine Jones, 78, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2020, in the El Reno Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home.
Private graveside services for John Robert Thompson of El Reno will be held in the El Reno Cemetery. Visitation will be at Huber-Benson Funeral Home on Sunday, May 24 from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Mr. Thompson died May 19, 2020, at his home. He was born Dec. 20, 1934, in Calumet.
He attended Oklahoma State University and graduated from Central State College with a teaching degree in elementary education. John was a U.S. Army veteran.

Novella passed away May 5, 2020, at her home in El Reno, where she was a lifelong resident. She was born July 26, 1941, in Minco to Clifton and Lucille Marcom.
Novella married Jesse Lee Ashley on Aug. 7, 1959, in Kingfisher. She was a devoted housewife and mother.
Carolyn Sue Smith, known to most as Sue, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2020, in Union City with her family by her side.
Sue was born to Homer and Lillian Smith on Oct. 15, 1944, in Dallas, Texas. She lived in the Texas Panhandle briefly before establishing her forever home in Watonga.
Sue found the calling that suited her servant heart when she discovered nursing.
She was a Certified Medications Aide and very knowledgeable in many areas of medicine and trained others who were coming up in the field of nursing.
Marion Martha Antoinette Welenz Hedrick, 89, formerly of El Reno, passed away April 30, 2020, at Baltimore Veterans Administration Hospital in Baltimore, Md.
Born in Scranton, Penn., on Nov. 24, 1930, to Anton Joseph and Catherine Veronica (Dudek) Welenz, Marion was the second of three daughters.
In her youth, she loved swimming and ice skating. She was classically trained in voice and piano, gifts she shared throughout her life. In her later years, she found a deep passion for art, winning several awards for her original paintings.
