Services for Charles Thomas Johnson III will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, at Pentecostal Church of God, 1108 E. Rogers.
Viewing will be held at New Providence Baptist Church, 401 N. Admire, on Friday, Nov. 5 from noon to 6 p.m.
Charles was born June 30, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nev. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Oct. 25, 2021.
Shawn James Scott, 42, of Banner, left this world to be with his Savior on Oct. 27, 2021. He was born July 6, 1979, in Thomas to Tom and Diana Scott.
Funeral services were held Monday at Life.Church in Yukon with Dr. Jeff Hill officiating. A graveside service immediately followed at El Reno Cemetery.
Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald Irwin Wiewel will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by military honors.
Ron died Oct. 25, 2021, at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon. He was born April 2, 1944, the second child of Jack and Marie Wiewel.
Martha Ann Higdon, age 73, passed away Oct. 23, 2021, at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born in Okarche on June 8, 1948, the daughter of Lawrence and Petranella Higdon.
Martha attended Sacred Heart Catholic School.
She adored and cherished her family deeply. She loved spending as much time with them as possible, especially with her grandchildren.
Martha will always be remembered for her faith in God, love for teaching children about God, reading and volunteering for after-church programs for children.
Miles Leon Boling, 68, of Spiro, passed away Oct. 21, 2021, in Spiro. He was born July 24, 1953, in Poteau. Miles enjoyed playing music and singing.
Miles is survived by his sons, Everett Boling and Corey Boling; daughter, Christy Boling; sisters, Donna Cleveland, Sandra Garrett and Debra Allensworth; brothers, Keith Boling, Evan Boling, Bill Ward, Ronnie Ward and Darryl Ward; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Funeral services for Hattie Faye Mauldin will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, at First Baptist Church of El Reno, under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
Faye passed from this life on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, at the age of 90 years young and is no doubt dancing with Jesus. She was born Feb. 12, 1931, in Wilson, Oklahoma.
Faye was preceded in death by her mother, Louie Henderson; sister, Lois Dean Thompson; brothers, Larry Joe Henderson and Orville Whitaker; and daughter-in-law, Laurie Mauldin.
Linda Bannister Simmons journeyed from this life on Oct. 20, 2021, after living a long and textured life. She was born to Rosemary and Ray Bannister of El Reno. Linda passed quietly away in her home with her long-devoted husband by her side and her three children nearby as well.
In 1958, she met the love of her life, James C. “Jim” Simmons of El Reno, and they were wed on Aug. 6, 1960. Linda and Jim had three children, Julie, Susanne and Jim.
Our beloved mother, Joyce Bahran Richey, passed away Oct. 17, 2021.
Joyce was born and spent most of her life in El Reno. She raised her children with love and devotion in El Reno alongside her husband of 51 years, Marvin C. Richey Sr. She was a proud mother to Marvin Jr. and Jason Richey.
Joseph Leo Lagaly was born Oct. 31, 1930, to Wilhelm and Margaret (Menz) Lagaly at their farm home near Union City.
He was the fifth of eventually nine children. He was named after two uncles, Joseph and Leo, and his grandfather was also named Joseph.
“Papa Joe” passed away peacefully on Oct. 16, 2021, surrounded by much family, including his wife, four sons and several grandchildren.
Joe’s older siblings were George, Barbara, John and Gertrude. His younger siblings were Irene, William, Lawrence and Mary. Joe is survived by George, Gertrude, Lawrence and Mary.
Vonda Sue Boyle, age 65, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021. She was born March 24, 1956, in Okarche to Carl and Ada (Baker) Boyer. She was a graduate of El Reno High School and later attended beauty college. Vonda worked for the Daily Oklahoman newspaper as a route manager for a number of years, and she also had a booth at the AMC Market. She loved to fish with her dad and spend time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janice Schwab.
