The El Reno Tribune’s 2025 Football Preview section contains the following:
While its overall record fell under a winning percentage, El Reno High School’s volleyball team, ranked No.14 in Class 5A, had a successful run in the recent Sapulpa Invitational.
After a rough opening day of 1-4, El Reno rallied with a 2-0 mark on day two to close with a 3-4 record.
The Indians defeated Tulsa Memorial (25-12/25-12), Noble (25-15/23-25/15-8) and McAlester (25-15/25-18).
The losses were to Class 5A’s No.9 Shawnee, No.6 Sapulpa and No.4 Claremore.
Glenpool, ranked No.10 in 4A, defeated EHS in straight games.
Redlands Community College women’s soccer team remains undefeated on the 2025 season after posting a 2-1 victory over Missouri-based Crowder College.
The Cougars improved to 2-0-1 following a 2-2 tie with Garden City Community College out of Kansas.
Redlands never trailed in the win over Crowder as Ashanti Lewis scored an unassisted goal, followed by the same from Danielle Cameron.
The goals were part of a 16-shot effort by the Cougars, five of which were on goal.
Posting a 2-2 record in the Hinton Invitational, Union City High School’s fast-pitch softball team remains in the top 20 of the Class A poll at No.17.
The Tigers, winners of four of their last six games, defeated Merritt (5-4) and Mount View Gotebo (9-1), but dropped games to Binger-Oney (4-1) and Lookeba-Sickles (5-3). Both squads are ranked in the top 20 in Class B.
Union City is now 10-4 on the season.
The Tigers offense posted a .364 average (28-of-77) en route to the 18-run effort. Mariah Ailey and Cassidy Taylor logged doubles as the lone extra base hits.
A four-game win streak has lifted Calumet High School into the No.1 spot of the Class B Fall State Baseball Poll over archrival and defending state champion Fort Cobb-Broxton.
Calumet moved to 6-1 on the season with a three-game run toward the championship of the Leedey Invitational. The Chieftains defeated Arnett (16-1) and Drummond (13-5) and Class B’s fifth-ranked Hammon (9-3).
Having missed extending a playoff streak to seven years by just one game or 10 points, it goes without saying that El Reno High School’s football team has plenty of learning points to recall from the 2024 season.
It’s just those points are in the past and that’s where head coach Russell Cook wants them to stay.
