Body

An all-night wake for William Gregory Pawnee was held Friday evening, with funeral services set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Concho Community Hall with Revs. Waylan Upchego and Jay Mule officiating. Burial will follow at the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.   

William died Nov. 13, 2021, in El Reno. He was born July 11, 1998, in Oklahoma City.

He was a member of Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and a member of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.

Body

Prayer service for Joshua B. Stursa was held Thursday at Holy Trinity Church in Okarche. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday at Holy Trinity with Deacon Max Schwarz and Rev. Christobal De Loera officiating. Burial with military honors followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Kay McLearen will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Faith Family Church with Rev. Paul Roach officiating. Burial will follow in the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Arleah Kay McLearen was born in Dumas, Texas. She was a cashier at Beachlers Grocery and a member of Faith Family Church.

Thomas Kendall

Body

Graveside services for Thomas Boyd “Tommy” Kendall of Reydon, a former Minco resident, were held Monday at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco. Services were under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Tommy passed away Nov. 9, 2021, in Cheyenne. He was born Oct. 25, 1960, in Chickasha. He was raised in the Minco/Cogar communities and graduated from Minco High School in 1978.

He was employed in the oil field as a completion consultant for many years. He was a member of Hazel Dell Baptist Church.

Glenn Barnes Jr.

Body

Glenn Allen Barnes Jr. passed away Nov. 3, 2021, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born Dec. 23, 1985, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Glenn Allen Barnes Sr. and Carrie E. White, who passed away in 2019.

Glenn was a 2004 graduate of El Reno High School.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. in the Huber-Benson Chapel.

Barbara Chadwick Kirkhart

Body

Funeral services for Barbara Jean Chadwick of Union City were held Friday at First Baptist Church in Union City with Rev. Eric Stock officiating. 

Barbara died Nov. 6, 2021, at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon.

She was born Oct. 7, 1953, in El Reno. She was an engineer with Seagate Computer and a member of First Baptist Church.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sarah Kirkhart of Union City; her mother, Mary Ozella Chadwick of El Reno; brother, Kendall Chadwick of El Reno; and two grandchildren.

Bob Davidson

Word has been received of the death of Bob Davidson of Tulsa, Okla. Born Feb. 19, 1949, in Kingfisher, Bob passed away Oct. 22, 2021, with complications from COVID.

Bob was a quarterback for the El Reno High School football team in 1963-65. He attended Crowder Junior College and the University of Tulsa, graduating with a bachelor’s degree. He was employed as a fuel broker for many years before working as a salesperson for Four Seasons Sunrooms.

Bob loved spending time with his family, a good dance party, and listening to country and classic rock.

Corky Spurlin

Body

Cora Mae Spurlin was born Oct. 23, 1930, to Walter and Sarah Rowe in Leavenworth, Kan., but she would later find the love of her life and make her permanent home in El Reno.

While her birth certificate read Cora Mae, friends and family, and fans of her artwork, knew her as “Corky.” Corky, a talented painter, avid reader and loving mother and Mema, passed away Oct. 11, 2021.

Jeanine Massey

Jeanine Elizabeth Massey was born July 5, 1944, at Goodland, Kan. Her father’s employment with the Rock Island Railroad brought the family to El Reno. Jeanine graduated from El Reno High School. For many years she provided day care for children in her home and later cared for the home-bound.

A free spirit, Jeanine enjoyed being with her grandchildren, reading and working jigsaw puzzles.

Charles Thomas Johnson III

Services for Charles Thomas Johnson III will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, at Pentecostal Church of God, 1108 E. Rogers.

Viewing will be held at New Providence Baptist Church, 401 N. Admire, on Friday, Nov. 5 from noon to 6 p.m. 

Charles was born June 30, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nev. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Oct. 25, 2021.
