Dorothy Fern (Harman) Cassel, affectionately known as Honey (Hunny) to all lucky to love her, slipped into heaven on Dec. 24, 2025, in time for Christmas Eve candlelight services. 

Born March 30, 1937, to Roxie and H.C. Harman of Pocasset, Dorothy was one-half of the Harman twins. Well-known in the area for switching identities to trick teachers and friends, the twins were involved with sports and were active members of Dutton Methodist Episcopal Church.

Carol Bodine

Body

Carol Suzanne Bodine was reunited with her parents in heaven on Jan. 26, 2026. Carol was born Nov. 17, 1986, in Oklahoma City to Thomas and Ann Bodine. She was the youngest of their three girls. With a head of blonde ringlets, she was the quintessential youngest child.

A daddy’s girl, even from a young age it was always apparent how empathetic and sweet Carol was. 

She excelled in school in every aspect - as a straight A student, a competitive basketball player and the president of every student government organization she could find, both local and statewide.

Haylee Paddyaker

Body

Haylee Whiteplume Paddyaker of Albuquerque, N.M., passed away Jan. 22, 2026. She was born Jan. 17, 1997, in Oklahoma City.

She attended El Reno and Oklahoma City public school systems, graduating from high school in Albuquerque.

Haylee participated in cultural dances and pow-wows and served as the Tiny Tot Princess at the 2000 Annual Oklahoma Indian Nations Pow-Wow and again at the 2002 Geary Fourth of July Pow-Wow. She was an enrolled member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes.

Samuel Dee Wix was born Oct. 13, 1973, in Oklahoma City to Michael Wix and Tammy Bullard (deceased). He passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at the age of 52 in Yukon, surrounded by his family and loved ones. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Wix; grandparents, Willard and Ruby Wix; his brother, Timothy Bunn; and his nephew, Eric Edwards.

Samuel is survived by his mother, Shelley Wix Lasher and stepfather, Craig Lasher of El Reno; his grandmother, Janice Tech of El Reno; and his grandparents, Carol and Jenny Finch of Tulsa.

Vada Glenn

Services for Vada Louise (Hearrell) Glenn of Minco were held Saturday, Jan. 24 in the Huber-Benson Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Union City.

Vada died Jan. 16, 2026, at her home in Minco. She was born May 5, 1939, in Coalgate.

She was raised in Lane and attended Butler Country School. In the ‘70s, she worked for the El Reno Nursing Home as well as MCM Hospital Supplies.

Vada moved to Minco in 1986 and later bought The Office Tavern.

Jessie Marie Sanders Ford, affectionately known as “Marie,” entered eternal rest after a life richly lived in love, creativity and devotion to family.

Born Feb. 27, 1952, she was the beloved daughter of Dolores Marquez Sanders Alvarado and Herbert L. Sanders Jr.

Marie carried forward the strength, resilience and warmth of her lineage with grace and quiet determination.

Roxie Brookman

Roxie Ellen (Quigley) Brookman, age 80, of El Reno, passed away Jan. 16, 2026, at her home.  Roxie was born June 12, 1945, in Elkhart, Kan., to Merle and Elma Quigley.

Roxie completed her master’s degree in music education/administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. She taught music in the Oklahoma and Kansas school systems. She also taught private piano lessons in her home.

A memorial service for John W. Mahen of Yukon will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at First Christian Church of El Reno with Pastor Colton Lott officiating.

John passed away Jan. 19, 2026. He was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois.

John Davidson

Body

John Glenwaine Davidson, 77, of El Reno, passed away Jan. 15, 2026. He was born May 1, 1948, in Alice, Texas, to Corine Fowler and Glen Davidson.

Glen graduated from Union City High School and was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran. He worked as a grocery store manager at Bill’s IGA in Kingfisher, a local Rainbow bread distributor, and was co-owner of Dee’s Café and Produce off U.S. 81 in Union City.

He will be remembered as El Reno’s beloved watermelon and cantaloupe peddler.

Patrick Dailey

Patrick Upton Dailey was born July 13, 1943, in Chickasha to Andrew Frank Dailey and Ida Mae Friedlander Dailey.

He passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, 2026, in Norman.

Patrick graduated from Duncan High School in 1961 and later earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.

Throughout his life, he lived in Midland, Texas, and for a short time in Colorado, before eventually settling in Norman, where he remained a devoted Sooner at heart.
