Matthew Williams, 41, passed away July 15, 2024. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 29 at Wilson Funeral Home. 

Graveside services for Billy Eugene Buchanan will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27 at Sunset Cemetery in Geary. Turner Funeral Home will be open Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the public to view his paintings and sign his book.

Billy passed away July 22, 2024, at his home in Geary. He was born April 17, 1954, in Clovis, N.M., and grew up in El Reno.

He was an artist and also enjoyed taking care of everything he owned from repairs to restoration. 

Waynita Jo “Nita” Bullard, a beacon of warmth and creativity, passed away on July 17, 2024, at the age of 72 in Oklahoma City after a courageous battle. Born Feb. 2, 1952, in El Reno, Nita was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma, known for her loving spirit and nurturing heart. 

Joann Laverne Nitzel was born July 15, 1940, to Theodore “Ted” Adam and Doreen LaVerne (Penwright) Nitzel. She passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the Arbor House of Mustang at the age of 84. 

Joann graduated from Calumet High School and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha. Joann taught school for many years in Burkburnett, Texas.

After retiring, she moved back to the Calumet area. She was actively involved in the El Reno Carnegie Library and the Canadian County Genealogical Society.  

A memorial service for Sammy Lee Knott will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23 at the El Reno Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Grant Findley officiating.

The service is under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Sammy died July 17, 2024, at St. Anthony Healthplex in El Reno. He was born Oct. 20, 1961, in El Reno and graduated from El Reno High School.

He was a landscaper at El Reno Sod Farm and a member of Red Rock United Methodist Church. 

Theodore Smith Mulanax, age 91, of El Reno, passed away peacefully July 11, 2024.

Born Sept. 11, 1932, in Chickasha, he was the youngest of seven siblings.

Ted was a proud veteran, serving in the Air Force for four years, starting in 1953.

Later in civilian life, he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as a Lead Electronics Technician for 35 years, before enjoying his retirement. 

Raymond Gerald Price was born June 24, 1929, in Mangum to Rex and Ruth (Carpenter) Price.

He passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Edmond at the age of 95.

Services for Bobbie Lee Adams Kirkegard, 95, a former Minco resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19 at Minco First Baptist Church, with burial to follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Bobbie passed away July 12, 2024.

Services for Julian Bosquez Fuentez will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 15 in the Turner Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, with burial in the El Reno Cemetery.

Julian died July 3, 2024, in El Reno. He was born April 7, 1970, in Goldthwaite, Texas. A graduate of El Reno High School, he worked in construction.

Services for Joshua Wade Goulsby were held June 15 at Southern Heights Baptist Church.

Joshua passed away May 26, 2024, in Oklahoma City. He was born Aug. 8, 1984, in El Reno. He grew up and attended school in El Reno and had made his home in Oklahoma City in recent years.

Joshua is survived by his sons, Keyantae Goulsby and Keyandre Johnson; his father, Leonard Lang Sr.; brothers, Leonard Lang Jr., Jordan Cooksey and Isiah Cooksey; and sisters, DeShaen Brewer, Shawnta Lang and Sierria Cooksey.
