Jean M. Davis was born on the family farm 10 miles west of Okarche on April 16, 1930, to Barney and Iva McCabe. She died Jan. 19, 2020, at her home in Yukon, surrounded by her loving family.
Jean loved growing up on the farm, playing with her sisters and brother. She always went with her dad to thresh wheat and drive the wheat truck. She loved riding the horses, feeding the cattle and all things of the farm life.
Celebration of Life for Michelle Antoinette Brockman will be held April 20, 2020, at Circle M Ranch in Geary. Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Home of Hinton.
Michelle passed away Jan. 6, 2020, at the age of 31. She was born May 19, 1988, in Fort Campbell, Ky., to Gary Don and Bobbie Suzett (Bensch) Brockman.
Michelle was raised in Seiling and Chester. She lived in Alaska for 13 years, then lived a short time in Oregon and Idaho before moving to Geary.
Michelle owned and operated Cannabis Garden.
Funeral services for David Eugene “Geno” Sears were held Tuesday, Jan. 21 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Blount officiating. Burial was in the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Michael Marr Curtis of Minco will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ in Minco with Rev. Bob Hines officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazel Dell Cemetery northwest of Minco. Services are under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Ethel M. Franklin of El Reno will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Concho Community Hall with Rev. George Akeen officiating. Burial will be in the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
Ethel died Jan. 17, 2020, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. She was born May 8, 1946. She came to El Reno in 1997.
She had various jobs during her life including working as a dry cleaner.
Ethel was a member of Indian Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Cecil Hill, 79, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the El Reno Cemetery.
Leslie “Les” Penwright, age 61 of Oklahoma City, passed away Jan. 9, 2020. He was born Jan. 12, 1958, to parents, Billy and Pat Penwright.
Les was preceded in death by his father, Bill and his mother, Pat; sister, Cathy Penwright Menz Reese; and nephew, Joshua M. Penwright.
Les is survived by his sons, William Penwright and Kevin Penwright, both of Oklahoma City; brother, Marshall and wife, Marci of Houston, Texas; sister, Anne Penwright and husband, Sam of Yukon; brother-in-law, Bob Reese of Calumet; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service for Glenn Dale Wosika Sr. will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, in the Geary Cemetery. Viewing will be held at Wilson Funeral Home from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20.
Mr. Wosika passed away Jan. 15, 2020, in Oklahoma City. Glenn was born Aug. 26, 1923, in Geary to William and Erma Wosika. He grew up in the Geary area and attended rural schools.
Funeral services for Darrel Wayne Goff of Moore will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Minco First Baptist Church, with burial following in the Evergreen Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mr. Goff passed away Jan. 14, 2020, at his home. He was born Oct. 17, 1953, in Chickasha. Darrel was raised in the Chickasha community, graduating from Chickasha High School in 1971. He had worked as an electrical lineman. He was a member of Cavalry Baptist Church in Chickasha.
America has lost another great patriot. Buddy Lee Guth, 59, passed away Jan. 9, 2020, in Yukon. Buddy was born Dec. 19, 1960, in El Reno to Leslie and Jimmie Lou.
Buddy graduated from El Reno High School in 1979. He began his career in law enforcement at the Sheriff’s Office in El Reno, serving from 1980 to 1989. During this time he attended Redlands Community College for Criminal Justice and Police Science.
