El Reno tennis places all entries at Lone Wolf tourney

El Reno High Schools tennis teams posted their first top 10 finishes of the season at the 2026 Lone Wolf Classic played at the Earlywine Complex.

The El Reno boys took third place behind Westmoore and Chisholm. The girls were fifth behind Chickasha, Westmoore, Chisholm and Weatherford.

Sergio Rosas paced the boys with a runner-up finish at No.2 singles.

He defeated Chisholms Houston Moore and John Marshalls Tyler Moore in duplicate 8-1 pro-set matches.

Many matches were pro-sets due to the wind.

Services for Gary Leon Hartley will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 23 at Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Red Rock Cemetery in Calumet.  

Mr. Hartley died March 16, 2026, at his home in Traskwood, Arkansas.

Reliever Mason Williams got the final out with the tying run at third base as Union City High Schools baseball team defeated Pioneer-Pleasant Vale 8-7 in a battle of top 10 teams.

The win moved Union City to 4-0 on the year and ahead of the Mustangs in the latest Class A2 poll to fifth place, while PPV slips from fourth to sixth.

Williams was credited with the save, while Blake Bailey got the win in relief of starter Aiden Williams. The trio had a combined seven-inning line of nine hits, eight walks, seven runs and six strikeouts.

Union City heats up bats, Calumet splits

Riding a 59-3 scoring edge, Union City High Schools slow-pitch softball team remains undefeated on the season with four wins en route to the title of its own spring break festival.

The Tigers are 6-0 after beating Community Christian (22-0), Burns Flat-Dill City (14-1), Bray-Doyle (12-0) and Hinton (11-2).

Union City went 78-of-110 (.709) from the plate for the four games including 21 extra base hits.

Kamryn Cook led the way with four home runs and three doubles.
