We received an email a few weeks ago from a Mr. Andrew LeVan Allgood, he goes by Ace.

He said he would be coming through El Reno on his way to Los Angeles in an old 1934 Ford Cabriolet, in honor of what would have been his grandparents’ 90th wedding anniversary.

City gets update on comprehensive plan for lake, Adams Park

The El Reno City Council got an update on the comprehensive plan being created for Lake El Reno and Adams Park.

Representatives of Halff, the firm hired to create the plan, said the study is about three-quarters complete. The final document is expected to be presented in early 2025. 

Council heard the update at its meeting last week. 

The project started in April and has included a community survey that resulted in more than 360 responses.

Cardinal Point names Docter as new CEO

Cardinal Point, Canadian County’s family justice center, has announced the appointment of Karla Docter as its new chief executive officer effective Nov. 1.

Docter brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge to Cardinal Point. She has over 27 years of combined personal and professional experience relating to domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, and an unshakable passion to help others on their journey toward hope and healing.

Two arrested in meth bust

El Reno police arrested a man and woman after allegedly finding more than a half pound of methamphetamine in their vehicle. 

Assistant Police Chief Kirk Dickerson said the arrest came Nov. 5 at 6:47 p.m., after officers pulled over a westbound vehicle on Interstate 40.

The gray Ford Mustang was stopped near mile marker 127. The vehicle was pulled over after the driver allegedly “failed to maintain” its lane and failure to signal a lane change properly.
