Indians remain unbeaten behind 15-point breaks

A pair of 15-point runs wrapped around halftime allowed El Reno High School’s boys basketball team to rally and pull away from Lawton Eisenhower for an 85-55 win in the semifinals of the 2025 Anadarko Warriors Classic.

The 35-point blowout of the Eagles moved El Reno to 9-0 on the season and into the finals for a third straight season and the fourth time in five seasons.

However, as the event was postponed a day due to winter weather, there will be no championship game played in either the boys or girls divisions.

Sandidge: City better fitted to handle water needs of harsh winter

Body

The city of El Reno has invested close to $10 million in improvements to waterline infrastructure in addition to well fields and the water treatment plant to avoid issues caused by past extreme winter weather events.

The push for improvements stemmed from the deep freeze of 2021 when Oklahoma residents experienced several days of subarctic February temperatures.

Those temperatures, coupled with loss of power at the water treatment plant, strained the city’s water tower reserves.
