CA sweeps Indians in 5A-1 play

Enjoying a week with a jump up in the district standings, El Reno High School’s baseball team took a step back after dropping two games to powerhouse Carl Albert.

The Indians took a brief 2-0 lead over the Titans in the home game at the Hub Reed Complex, only to allow 12 unanswered runs leading to a 12-2 run-rule loss. The two runs were the second most scored on Carl Albert in District 5A-1 games to date.

Indians jump up in district lineup

Space in the upper half of the District 5A-2 standings got a little more crowded as El Reno High School’s boys soccer team shut out Del City 2-0. The road win was the fifth shutout victory of the season for El Reno, which improved to 6-2 on the season.

The Indians also jumped three spots in the league standings into a tie for third place at 1-1. El Reno is tied with Classen SAS and Carl Albert for third, trailing Bishop McGuinness and Guymon by a game for first place.
