El Reno, manager part ways

El Reno parted ways with City Manager Jeremy Frazier Tuesday night.

Frazier’s one-year contract was up for renewal at the January city council meeting. Council opted not to renew the contract, effectively ending Frazier’s time here.

A motion to renew the contract by Ward 4 council representative Tracey Rider died for lack of a second.

Mayor Matt White said Frazier was scheduled to meet with City Attorney Roger Rinehart and himself Wednesday afternoon to finalize details of the departure.

Former oil field hand hopes to strike gold with fitness center

Body

Dallion Broomfield spent 12 years working in Oklahoma’s oil fields. But he always had a dream of owning his own fitness center.

Last week, that dream came true. In El Reno.

A native of Yukon, Broomfield has opened Absolute Fitness at 1705 Investors Ave.

The 24-hour gym is family-owned and Broomfield said it's “the only gym in town” that offers on-site child care while parents work out.

“Starting my own gym has been a dream of mine for six years,” said Broomfield.
