Memorial services for Willie Vern Frazier Sr. of El Reno will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 at Jenks Simmons Field House.

Willie passed away Nov. 1, 2020, at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born May 13, 1941, in El Reno. Willie was a graduate of Booker T. Washington and Central State University, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology.

He served in the U.S. Army and was employed 31 years with the U.S. Postal Service.

Willie spent a lifetime mentoring youth even after retirement at the Juvenile Detention Center in El Reno.

Roberta J. Keena Curtis died Nov. 1, 2020, in El Reno. She was born Oct. 21, 1943, in Sioux Falls, S.D., and was raised in El Reno, graduating from Sacred Heart High School.

Roberta received a master’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.

For many years she was employed as a telephone operator with AT&T and later worked in other positions. She lived most of her life in Oklahoma City.

Bobbie was an avid reader, excelled playing Trivia Pursuit and volunteered at the Learning Center teaching English.

Orvella Hahn

Orvella Mourine Hahn passed away Oct. 30, 2020, in Henryetta.

She was born April 2, 1933, in Erick, and had attended school in El Reno.

Orvella was a nursing student at Mercy Hospital. She worked for Central State University before becoming a school nurse at Roosevelt Junior High and finishing her nursing career at Western Heights Public School where she retired.

Orvella is survived by her children, Charla Wilkes, Perry Hahn and Scott Hahn; brother, Don Vance; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Crews begin collecting limbs at curb

Crews have begun canvassing El Reno neighborhoods collecting limbs that are placed at the curb, Mayor Matt White said on Thursday.

White told the El Reno Live audience the city has contractors collecting limbs lost from the recent ice storm. He said the plan is to have the pickup completed by Nov. 22.
