Tigers honor Duvall with win over Lions; Chieftains unable to defend WCT title

UNION CITY – Playing the first home game since the death of head coach Robert Duvall, Union City High School’s boys basketball team posted a wire-to-wire win over Gracemont.

The victory lifted the Tigers to 2-5 on the season and 1-2 in the Washita Valley Conference standings. It was the first game of 2021 for Union City due to COVID-19 concerns.

Union City girls tame Gracemont; COVID-19 hampers Calumet, OHS

UNION CITY – In a much-anticipated return to the court, Union City High School’s girls basketball team overwhelmed Gracemont last week to earn its first Washita Valley Conference victory.

The Tigers improved to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in the WVC standings with a 49-22 win over the Lions.

Gracemont, which had only five players, kept it close in the first period despite a 3-pointer and eight total from Union City guard Taytim Woods. The Tigers led 10-8 going into the second period.

RCC releases honor rolls for fall semester

Redlands Community College recently announced students named to the college’s honor rolls for the fall 2020 semester.

Students listed on the President’s Honor Roll have completed 12 or more credit hours and have earned a GPA of not less than 3.8, with no grade less than a B – excluding 0-level courses.

The Vice President’s Honor Roll recognizes students who have completed 12 or more hours of coursework and have earned a GPA of 3.5 to 3.79, with no grade less than a C – excluding 0-level courses.
