While it won’t be following the traditional East/West split, El Reno High School will host two home games for the upcoming Class 5A playoffs.

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association released playoff brackets for the three largest classifications last week, with El Reno being named one of eight regional host sites for the girls – but on the East side of the 5A bracket.

“I was given the option to go East and I said yes,” said El Reno head coach Jennifer Douglas.

Mark Ciardi has fond memories of watching famed quarterback Kurt Warner guide the St. Louis Rams to a thrilling seven-point win over the Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl 34.

“I’ve done a lot of iconic sports stories but this is one I can remember unfolding while watching it on television. I always said that this would make a great movie someday,” said Ciardi.

Two decades later, the movie producer behind such hits as The Rookie, Miracle, Secretariat and Million Dollar Arm is putting his talents behind that statement.
