El Reno police are investigating after a man was apparently injured outside a local bar.

Police did not identify the man who was apparently stabbed during an altercation in the parking lot of Vice’s Bar, 1701 E. SH 66. Police said they contacted the man who was being treated at a local medical center. He reportedly suffered lacerations to his chest and right arm.

After a year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Union City High School’s Spring Break Baseball Festival got back on the diamond last week with five host sites holding games – four of those inside Canadian County.

In-county sites El Reno, Union City, Calumet and Okarche hosted games. The fifth site was Minco as teams from across the state converged to play a combined 40 games over two days.

There were 11 ranked teams from the state’s two smallest classes entered in the field.

Services for Harvey Carl Ely of Okarche will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at First Christian Church of Perry with Rev. Josh Bell and Rev. Craig Vandeburgh officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Rock Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Harvey was born Dec. 19, 1931, in Pawnee. He graduated from Red Rock High School in 1949. In 1954, he received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture science from Oklahoma A&M. He established a home construction business, Cimarron Construction, in 1959 in Albuquerque, N.M.
