Redlands splits with Blue Dragons, sweeps series from Dakota College

Playing its third series in a week, Redlands Community College’s baseball team headed north to Kansas to split a series with NJCAA Division 1 Hutchinson Community College.

The teams combined for 55 runs as the Blue Dragons won the opener 24-6. Redlands took game two 15-10.

The split came on the heels of the Cougars home sweep of Dakota College of Bottineau, based out of North Dakota, by scores of 3-1 and 9-0.

Redlands Community College’s basketball teams continue a rough stretch through the latter stages of the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule, winning one of four games against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M over a 48-hour period.

Jay Niehues’ women's team snapped a three-game slide with a 57-45 home win over the Golden Norsemen, but lost the return game in Miami by a 70-56 count.

The split left the Cougars with a 9-6 overall record and a 6-6 mark in the OCAC standings, lifting the team up one spot to fifth.
