Police say a former El Reno Tag Agency employee embezzled some $66,000 over a two-year period.
On Wednesday, Julie Kay Armold, 50, was arrested and charged in Canadian County District Court with one felony count of embezzlement of more than $15,000.
The funds were allegedly taken while Armold served as office manager for the tag agency.
El Reno police said officers were contacted May 3, 2018, by Amanda Bosler, who at the time was the tag agent for the El Reno office.
Bosler told police she believed Armold had been embezzling funds from the agency.
Editor’s Note: This is the first of a two-part series on former El Reno educator and coach Hub Reed. Reed has been named part of the Class of 2020 for the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame.
Each morning Hub Reed wakes up and starts his daily routine, one that seems rather small in stature compared to his 6-foot-10 frame, but for this 85-year-old Oklahoma legend, it’s perfect.
