Demolition of the Frontier Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealership destroyed by the May 25 tornado that hit El Reno is expected to be complete by the end of this week.

Debbie Denwalt with Frontier said the demolition process is going well.

“It’s already looking better,” Denwalt said Monday after crews had knocked down most of the structure that remained after the deadly twister.

El Reno was hit with an EF-3 tornado about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 25. Two people were killed in the Skyview Mobile Home Park west of the Frontier dealership. A motel was also destroyed.

The remains of the motel were cleared a few weeks ago.

Some 30 people were injured by the storm that struck with virtually no warning.

Nearby auto dealerships Rick Jones and Diffee were damaged, but not as badly as Frontier.

A used car lot was also wiped out in the storm.

Frontier will build a new dealership at the same location, SH 66 and U.S. 81., and Denwalt said plans continue to move forward.

An artist rendering has been created to show what the new building will look like.

The new Frontier dealership will offer Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Jeep vehicles.
