On the advice of local and state health officials, El Reno Public Schools Superintendent Craig McVay has opted to push forward with the district’s plan to hold in-person classes.

A quick-acting adult was able to pull a child from Four Mile Creek after the girl slipped into the fast-moving water. El Reno Assistant Police Chief Ken Dickerson said officers were called to the area of North Grand and Comanche after a 911 call reported the young girl had fallen into the creek.

David Jackson Cook, age 84, of Oklahoma City, went home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, in Oklahoma City. He was born Sept. 30, 1935, in Wickes, Ark., to Charlie Gerry Cook and Viola Evangeline Hicks.

Funeral services for Kelly Curtis will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the El Reno Cemetery. A come-and-go viewing will be held Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
