Lamplighters discuss fair club displays

Lamplighters OHCE of Canadian County met recently at Mount Zion Global Methodist Church, with Carol Stine calling the meeting to order.

Donna Wehmuller read a devotional titled "Paying Attention.”

Maxine Little read minutes from the last meeting, while Patricia Morrison gave the treasury report. 

Stine was birthday honoree.

Appreciation was expressed to Ann Niemann, Wehmuller and Stine for all their planning and work they did on the club displays at the Canadian County Fair.

Chapter AE P.E.O. holds its annual spaghetti supper

Chapter AE, Philanthropic Educational Organization’s annual spaghetti supper was held recently in the home of Robin White-Mahone, with Lindsey Vise serving as co-hostess.

Other members attending were Christy Eichholz, Margaret Price, Darla Reuter, Cynthia Jensen, Karen Rushing, Janan Fletcher, Anna Rinehart and Becky Reuter.

Vise read last month’s minutes. Fletcher read a thank you note from Rylan Fleenor, recipient of the Marie Lyons Scholarship at Redlands.

New member books were handed out.

Underwood OHCE reveals winners from county fair

Members of the Underwood Club of Oklahoma Home and Community Education met recently in the home of Vicki Duncan. Others attending were Ann Ricketts and Janan Fletcher.

Duncan read a devotion from Prayers of Grace. Fletcher gave the treasurer’s report and noted yearly dues will be collected next month.

Discussion was held from the lesson on Cast Iron Basics. 

It was noted the Underwood Club’s booth received third place in the points contest.

Birth - Poppy Jo Reed

GIRL – Madi and Hayden Reed of Skiatook are parents of a girl, Poppy Jo, born Aug. 17 at Ascension St. John, Owasso. 

Poppy Jo weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 19.75 inches in length.

Maternal grandparents are Kim Powell and Scott Powell. 

Paternal grandparents are Jamie Reed and Wesley Reed.

Maternal great-grandmother is Kathy Leggett.

Paternal great-grandparents are Gayla Benham and Karen Davis.

Local P.E.O. International chapter gathers for coffee

The August meeting of the Oklahoma Chapter AE of P.E.O. International was hosted by Janice Jensen at a local coffee shop. Other members present were Margaret Price, Ann Zavy, Karen Pappas, Christy Eichholz, Barbara Johnson, Becky Reuter, Anna Rinehart and Janan Fletcher. 

Zavy gave the devotional thought from Psalm 118:24.

Pappas took attendance and Eichholz presented the treasurer’s report. Price passed around the hostess and co-hostess meeting sign-up sheet for September through July.
