Spring snaps

Body

It’s been close to two years since El Reno High School’s football program held a spring workout and last week’s start of such drills was just what the Indians needed.

“We got a lot of young kids that will need to get reps with the football. The main reason for spring is to get reps with pads on for those kids and get them caught up with a lot of burning and learning.

“The veterans are also getting reps but I’m not as worried as much about them because of the experience level,” said El Reno head coach Chuck Atchison.

El Reno Mayor Matt White made good on a promise last week to be the first person to go down the new slide at the municipal swimming pool.

White took the plunge into the frigid water at the conclusion of the El Reno Live program. The program normally runs weekly and can be found on Facebook at the City of El Reno site, as well as the site of the El Reno Tribune.

White started the program as a way to stay in touch with the community during the COVID pandemic.
