The Canadian County Democrats awarded $500 Robert Burton Scholarships in early June to a trio of outstanding Democratic students, including Darius Moore of El Reno.
Moore graduated from El Reno High School in 2021 with a 3.63 grade point average. He will attend Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami on a football scholarship with plans to study kinesiology, physical therapy or sports medicine.

Sydney Haggins started her career as an endurance athlete a long time ago on a beach far, far away.
However, the El Reno doctor’s success in the sport of triathlons came to a head last week by qualifying for the 2021 IronMan 70.3 World Championships.
