Sweeping by the Spartans

Body

It took two days and an array of elements from Mother Nature, but El Reno High School’s baseball team earned its first district sweep of the 2023 season over the Southeast Spartans.

Originally set for a one-day doubleheader, El Reno took the first game by a 15-0 score. However, play was halted due to thunder and lightning and eventually called because of rain.

Game two was played a day later in mid-70-degree temperatures and a brisk south wind, which El Reno used to post a 20-1 victory. The Spartans avoided the shutout with a run in the final inning.
