United Way kicks off annual campaign

United Way of Canadian County kicked off its annual campaign with a breakfast Sept. 15 at the Dale Robertson Center in Yukon.

The funds raised from this year’s campaign will go to support 16 partner agencies providing health and human services to Canadian County residents.

“We are thrilled to begin our 2023 campaign season,” said Craig McVay, United Way of Canadian County Advisory Board president.

“Together, we can rally for the health of local Canadian County residents with your support. There is power in giving.”

Development of industrial hemp focus of state study

OKLAHOMA CITY— Sen. Roland Pederson, R-Burlington, and Sen. Jo Anna Dossett, D-Tulsa, held an interim study last week to investigate rural development through industrial hemp production.

“This study allowed us to see what industrial opportunities there are in hemp production,” Pederson said.
