El Reno police officers bagged groceries to raise money for the Special Olympics at United Supermarket a week ago.
Officer Troy George organized the event and had officers participating in the Bagging With Badges program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Along with the El Reno Police Department, other police departments around the state participated in the program to raise money for the Special Olympics.
A new roof has been installed on the historic Darlington Jail that’s located on the grounds of the Canadian County Historical Museum, 300 S. Grand.
Museum director Vicki Proctor said materials for the job were donated by Malarkey Roofing. Installers from Precision Roofing made quick work of the project Tuesday morning.

Two convicted felons could face more time in prison for allegedly attacking detention officers at the Canadian County Jail.
Yukon’s Angelo Allen Wythe, 23, and El Reno’s Bradley Keith Goodbear, 23, were charged Aug. 8 with assault and battery on a police officer. Wythe was charged with three counts, Goodbear with one count.
The felony cases stem from an Aug. 1 incident at the Canadian County Jail, 301 N. Evans, where Wythe and Goodbear are inmates.
Candidates interested in filing for municipal office in City of El Reno Ward 1 will file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26.
Those who wish to file for a municipal office must submit a Declaration of Candidacy to the Canadian County Election Board Aug. 26, 27 or 28, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The city’s investment in drainage in El Reno appeared to pay off last week when the area experienced heavy rains.
The spillway from Legion Park Pond north carried an estimated 3 inches of rainfall Sunday morning in an efficient manner.
City Manager Matt Sandidge said at last week’s city council meeting he was also pleased the city took emergency measures to correct drainage issues on South Country Club. Crews recently completed a major repair of that area.
