Long-awaited homer sparks El Reno bats in sweep
OKLAHOMA CITY – On his 12th trip to the plate as a freshman, Davin Shamblin hit a solo home run to give his team an early lead in a district road game.
Spin forward 1,113 days and the El Reno High School senior did it again.
Shamblin’s second career home run gave the Indians a 1-0 lead in the opening game of a twinbill with Western Heights as El Reno went on to sweep the Jets to remain tied for the District 5A-1 lead.
“I hadn’t had that feeling in awhile,” said Shamblin of his home run.
