F&M Bank to acquire Community National Bank of Okarche

Soupapalooza to spoon up fundraising items Oct. 14

The Canadian County 4-H Volunteer Leaders Council’s annual fundraising gala, Soupapalooza, is set for Tuesday, Oct. 14 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Canadian County Expo. 

Each year, Canadian County 4-H Clubs, sponsors and local businesses donate live and silent auction items to raise nearly $10,000 to support Canadian County 4-H’ers.

These funds provide Canadian County 4-H the opportunity to send 4-H’ers to district and state competitions, assist with leadership trip costs and expand countywide leadership and citizenship programs.

The Pride of El Reno recently participated in the Elgin Southwest Showdown, placing fourth in 5A Red and Top 12 in Prelims to advance to the final round.

In the final round the band placed 10th out of 26 bands.

EDMOND – Seven defensive errors allowed Edmond Santa Fe to rally twice to defeat El Reno High School’s fast-pitch softball team 4-3 in the regular season finale for both schools.

El Reno slipped to 13-16 on the season with the one-run loss, its third of the year, and drops Bri Michalicka’s team to 3-7 against Class 6A programs.

The Indians were slated to join Lawton MacArthur (9-20) and host Duncan (25-9) for the Class 5A Region 1 Championship.

Indians fall to Carl Albert in three, slip to second in Suburban chase

A strong serving effort by Carl Albert led the Titans to a 3-0 win over El Reno High School’s volleyball team and ended the Indians hopes of a tie for the 2025 Suburban Conference Championship.

The Titans, ranked No.7 in Class 5A, won the league title with a 6-0 record following the 25-21/25-16/26-24 decision. El Reno, ranked No.14 in the same poll, slipped to 18-12 on the year and into third in the conference standings at 4-2.
