Two Canadian County elementary schools got some great news in the form of state report cards.
Calumet Elementary received an A and Darlington Elementary received a B. These schools are two of 66 schools that have received top grades in the report card issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. The report cards are based on state testing and student attendance.
Officials from both schools cited similar reasons for the students success.
El Reno High School’s girls basketball team got a dose of its own medicine last week and spent the better part of four periods enthralled in a top 20 chess match of full-court pressure defenses with Guthrie.
In the end, though, ninth-ranked El Reno made the right moves to pull away for a 50-37 decision over the No.16 Bluejays for its second straight win of the new year.
