A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday morning at the Public Safety Center on SW 27th Street for El Reno Fast Connect. That's the name given to what will become El Reno’s new utility service.

It’s a more than $3 million investment in bringing what city officials say will be a “more reliable, consistent coverage for streaming throughout the city.”

This first wagon train passed through the Hinton and Hydro area on May 23, 1849, some 52 years before either town was established.

Thumbs up for Georgia

Body

They may not run up and down a court or catch the game-winning pass, but the nine students making up the El Reno High School Academic Team are athletes in their own right.

Just ask their coach, Patrick King.

“They are not your typical athletes but they are athletes in themselves. It takes a lot of brain power and a lot of work to do what they do. They put in the time outside of school and in school to have the ability to study and work at what they do,” said King.
