New ERA awaits students entering the front door

Body

Welcome back to school, El Reno. It is time to shake it off – well, summer that is, and prepare to enter your Lincoln ERA!

It’s me, Hi, I’m your principal, it’s me! I would like to welcome you to Lincoln, we have been waiting on you! Over the summer our wonderful custodians have been making this whole place shimmer.

As we enter our Lincoln ERA, I would like to introduce some new superstars to the tour. Being fearless in third grade, we have Jaelle Farrell.

And I don’t know how it gets better than Cathy Vaughn.

Parental involvement key factor in students’ performance at school

Body

Success in school can carry over to successful experiences later in life. That underscores the benefits of developing skills in the classroom.

Students learn in their own way, and at times they may need to overcome various obstacles.

The job of education does not fully fall on educators and administrators. Education begins at home. Research has found that kids benefit significantly when parents and other caregivers are strongly involved in a child’s education.

Hello El Reno:

I am excited and honored to be the principal of El Reno Learning Center. My staff and I will continue to provide the academic standards of education that has made El Reno Learning Center the award-winning campus that it has been.

I grew up not too far from here in Purcell, where I was the youngest of five siblings, and we all graduated from Purcell High School.

How families can get ready for school term

Body

Children will soon be trading in the chimes of neighborhood ice cream trucks for the bells of school as summer vacation gives way to the start of a new academic year. August through September is prime back-to-school season, with children all across the country stocking their backpacks and shopping for new school wardrobes.

There is more to getting ready for the start of school than making sure pencils are sharpened and tablets are charged. Parents and children can work together to ensure the transition back to the classroom is as seamless as possible.

Scores of student athletes participate in scholastic sports each year.

Next College Student Athlete (NCSA), an organization that connects young athletes with college coaches, says high school sports in particular provide competitive experiences for nearly 8 million student athletes each year.

Schools follow seasons that determine when certain sports are played in a school year.
