County CASA program seeks volunteer help

Body

A program that helps Canadian County’s most vulnerable kids served 130 abused and neglected youth in fiscal year 2023.

And the financial support of Canadian County commissioners helps make that possible, the program’s director said.

Commissioners approved a contract that provides $25,000 to Canadian County’s Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for FY24.

Canadian County CASA Executive Director Dana Lutz shared her appreciation and hopes that this partnership will continue for decades to come.

Organized crime said to be exploiting tribal car-tag loopholes

Body

Since the legalization of “medical” marijuana, Oklahoma has become a hub of criminal activity, much of it involving international cartels.

What many people don’t know is that those cartels are now aided in their activity by use of unregistered — and often illegal — car tags issued by tribal governments in Oklahoma.

“We are the hub of trans-national organized crime in Oklahoma now,” said Tim Tipton, commissioner of the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety.

The Britfield Movie: Redefining the industry

Body

With Hollywood teetering on bankruptcy, a consistent catalogue of deplorable films, and the continuation of toxic story-lines, when will the film industry realize the need for clean, family-focused content — their largest attending audience. The overaggressive violence, an emphasis on the supernatural and the repugnant push of agendas shows how disconnected Hollywood is from reality and what the public really wants. The current writers and actors strike is a clear indication of a system ready to collapse.
