The class of the conference

Body

The outcome of El Reno High School girls basketball team’s season seems to uphold Aristotle’s famous teachings that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”

However, those parts that made up a 24-5 squad and carried the Indians to their second state championship game in four years were pretty darn good and were recently honored with eight spots on the 2022 All-Suburban Conference Team.

For a team with one senior returning starter and slotted to finish in the middle of the conference race in the preseason, El Reno High School’s boys basketball team turned a lot of heads during the 2021-22 season.

El Reno exited the playoffs in the area round but closed the year with a 14-12 record.

The Indians were ranked 12th in the state, seventh on the West side, but played to a 5-1 record in league play and a second-place finish to eventual state runner-up Del City.
