Services for Nancy Ruth Coble will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22 at First Free Will Baptist Church with Revs. Barry Clagg and John Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. 

Nancy died May 13, 2021, at her home in El Reno. She was a respiratory therapist and a homemaker and member of First Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Rebecca J. Hulbutta were held Thursday in the Benson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gerald Panana officiating. Burial was at the Highland Cemetery in Lawton under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. 

Rebecca died May 15, 2021, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. She was born July 17, 1978, in Lawton and graduated from Oktaha High School. A longtime El Reno resident, she was an accountant at Lucky Star Casino.

Graveside services for Nancy Ann Williams will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the El Reno Cemetery with Rev. Greg Zoschak officiating. Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Nancy died May 18, 2021, at her home in El Reno. She was born Jan. 6, 1937, in El Reno. She was raised in El Reno, graduating from El Reno High School in 1955. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rock of Restoration Church.

Billy Roblyer

Billy Roblyer was born in El Reno on May 9, 1938, to Vincent Roblyer and Opal Mayo.

Billy is survived by three daughters, Sherry Pierce and husband, Richard of Destin, Fla., Toni Roblyer and husband, Ed Smillie of El Reno and Joni Roblyer of Tulsa; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vicki Smith and Jamie Williams of El Reno and Darla Allen of Broken Arrow; and one brother, Boyd Roblyer of Oklahoma City.

El Reno Mayor Matt White made good on a promise last week to be the first person to go down the new slide at the municipal swimming pool.

White took the plunge into the frigid water at the conclusion of the El Reno Live program. The program normally runs weekly and can be found on Facebook at the City of El Reno site, as well as the site of the El Reno Tribune.

White started the program as a way to stay in touch with the community during the COVID pandemic.

Pocasset man arrested in traffic death of Union City woman

Body

Police arrested a 37-year-old Pocasset man after he was involved in a traffic accident that claimed the life of Kasey Working, 30, of Union City.

Union City police took Jimmy D. Grissam into custody following the April 29 accident at State Highway 152 and Banner Road. Police said Grissam allegedly ran a stop sign at the intersection, striking the vehicle driven by Working. Working died at the scene, police said.

A volunteer-driven program meeting the needs of vulnerable Canadian County youth has received a significant boost.

Canadian County’s Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) mission is to train community volunteers to serve as court-appointed special advocates and represent the best interests of abused and neglected children who are wards of the court.

Lucky Star to host blood drive May 19

Lucky Star Casino at Concho will host a blood drive on Wednesday, May 19 to support the Oklahoma Blood Institute.

Each blood donor who gives between 1 and 6 p.m. will receive a voucher for $10 casino play, a free summer-themed T-shirt and their choice of a voucher for free admission to Science Museum Oklahoma or Frontier City or a voucher for two entries to Safari Joe’s H2O Water and Adventure Park in Tulsa.

Donors will also be entered for a chance to win a brand-new Ranger RT178 bass boat or a weekly Traeger grill giveaway.
