Couple to marry in Lake Eufaula ceremony

Jessica Hoselton Cowan of El Reno and Landon Davis of Verden are announcing their plans to marry July 10 at Lake Eufaula.

Children of the couple are Hunter, Colton and Cooper Holcomb of El Reno and Haylee Davis of Burns Flat.

Cowan is the daughter of Barbara Hoselton of El Reno and the late Martin Hoselton and granddaughter of the late Richard Buxton of Turpin and the late Gordon K. Hoselton and Georgie Hoselton of El Reno.

Griffis honored with bridal shower

Body

Clairetha Griffis was recently honored with a bridal shower held at Chelinos, with Lawanda Solomon as hostess. Those attending included Beverly Snyder, Tori Banks-Solomon, Sharon Mack, Shirley Richey Frazier and Lisa Chapel.

Griffis and Glenn Barnes, both of El Reno, plan to marry at 5 p.m. June 5 at the VFW.

Goodblanket earns master’s

Body

Aubreanna Goodblanket recently graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology. She is a 2015 graduate of El Reno High School.

In the fall she will begin employment with El Reno Public Schools as a speech-language pathologist. Goodblanket is the daughter of Nick and Amanda Delcour.

It’s been close to two years since El Reno High School’s football program held a spring workout and last week’s start of such drills was just what the Indians needed.

“We got a lot of young kids that will need to get reps with the football. The main reason for spring is to get reps with pads on for those kids and get them caught up with a lot of burning and learning.

“The veterans are also getting reps but I’m not as worried as much about them because of the experience level,” said El Reno head coach Chuck Atchison.

El Reno High School graduate Kadin Patterson signed recently to play volleyball at Rose State College in Midwest City.

She is the first player the Raiders program has signed to a scholarship offer according to RSC officials.

Redlands season ends with play-in loss to Mavericks

Body

Redlands Community College’s baseball team had a ninth-inning rally stopped short as the Cougars season ended with a 9-6 loss to Northern Oklahoma College of Tonkawa.

The setback came during a play-in game for the final spot in the 2021 NJCAA Region 2, Division 2 Championship. Redlands closes the 2021 season with a 14-39 overall record and a 7-21 mark against Region 2 opponents.

Services for Beverly Ann (Clemmer) Clark of Minco were held Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Minco, with burial following in the Evergreen Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.

Beverly passed away May 16, 2021, in Oklahoma City. She was born Sept. 16, 1939, in Burkburnett, Texas. She grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School in 1957. She and her husband owned and operated the Minco Lumber Yard. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Minco.
