Scoring runs remains issue for local teams
Run production continues to be an issue for both Union City and Calumet High School’s fast-pitch softball teams as both squads earned only one win in eight combined games last week.
Union City slipped to 3-11 on the season with its lone win over four games, a 15-3 decision against Ninnekah.
The Tigers dropped games to Elmore City/Pernell (8-1), Rush Springs (14-1) and Empire (11-1).
The team went 21-of-78 (.269) from the plate with two triples and a double from Morgan Brothers. Victoria Stucks, Lily Russell and Trestan Sutton logged a double each.
