Memorial services for Nelson Erwin Clark will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church Brown Event Center in Geary with Rev. Richard Cox and Rev. Wendell Prim officiating.

Services are under the direction of Turner Funeral Home.

Nelson passed away Jan. 4, 2022, in Watonga.

He was born March 11, 1942, in Concho. He grew up in the Geary area and attended Geary schools before moving to Chicago, where he graduated from Senn High School.

Eugene R. Slaughter

On the morning of February 12, 2022, Eugene R. Slaughter, 81, was taken home to our Lord, ending his 10-year battle to cancer.

He was born June 1, 1940, in El Reno, where he graduated from El Reno High School and went on to finish his master’s degree at Oklahoma University. He devoted his life to working as a Federal Parole Examiner.

His greatest joy in life was traveling, playing golf and spending time with his family.

Funeral services for Lynn Elizabeth Lensgraf of Plano, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Colton Lott officiating. Burial will follow in the El Reno Cemetery.

Lynn passed away Feb. 27, 2022, after a long battle with lung disease.

She was born Aug. 27, 1949, to John and Charlotte Dillon in Oklahoma City.

After graduating from Paschal High School in 1967, she went on to study English literature at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas, earning a bachelor of science degree in education.

Lance Dyer

Body

Funeral services for Lance Warren Dyer were held Friday at the Concho Emergency Resource Center with Rev. Alvin Deer officiating. Burial followed in the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Lance died Feb. 28, 2022, at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon. He was born Oct. 17, 1954, in Lawton. He attended the Rock of Restoration and Life Church.

Lance is survived by two sisters, Clara Goodmiller and Patricia Dyer White, both of El Reno.

Patricia Taylor

Body

Patricia Carol Taylor was born June 14, 1939, in El Centro, Calif. She came to Oklahoma as a child and graduated from Capitol Hill High School and Oklahoma City Beauty College in 1958.

On June 19, 1959, Pat married Raymond F. Taylor Jr. They made their home in El Reno. For 50 years she worked as a beautician and was the owner of Pat’s Beauty Shop in El Reno until she retired in 2008.

Funeral services for Gary Clay Choat were held Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Geary First Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Kittle officiating. Burial followed at the El Reno Cemetery. Services were entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, Hinton.

Gary passed away Feb. 22, 2022, in Oklahoma City. He was born Jan. 12, 1956, in Watonga to Floyd D. Choat and JoAnn L. Wooten. Gary attended Watonga High School. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard as Sr. Sergeant in the 45th Infantry.

All-night wake for Cynthia Louella Medicine Bear will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Watonga Emergency Response Center. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Watonga Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Lee and Rev. Gerald Panana officiating. Burial will be in the Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Geary.

Cynthia passed away Feb. 25, 2022, at her home in Watonga.

She was born April 22, 1939. She grew up in Watonga and attended school in Concho and El Reno. Cynthia worked as a CMA and was a member of the Indian Methodist Church.

Jackie O’Neal Ray

Funeral services for Jackie Renee’ O’Neal Ray were held Tuesday, March 1, 2022, in the Benson Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. 

Jackie died Feb. 24, 2022. She was born June 22, 1965, in El Reno.

She was a homemaker and a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Surrey Hills.

Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Benny Joe Smith; grandson, Noah Eli; and grandmother, Opal Doyle.

Graveside services for George (G.L.) Leonard Wright were held Monday in the Geary Cemetery with Rev. Darrla Golden officiating. Services were under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Hinton.

G.L. died Feb. 23, 2022, in Geary. He was born July 7, 1938, in Geary. G.L. owned and operated Geary Gulf Service Station for 11 years, Watonga Muffler Shop and Auto for 30 years as well as many other businesses. He then retired and continued his cattle operation.
