Most schools get funding hike via ghost student reform

Body

Among the major issues addressed during the 2021 legislative session was a funding reform that reduced schools’ ability to receive state payments for departed students, informally referred to as “ghost students.”

Rain strikes out Indians tourney

Mother Nature ended up throwing the final pitch in the 2021 El Reno High School Invitational as heavy overnight rains forced the cancellation of day two of the event – including bracket play.

El Reno's softball team dropped two games in pool play. The Indians lost a close 6-5 game to Shawnee in the opening round, before having the second-round game with Newcastle stopped in the third inning due to lightning.
