Three pitchers combined for a two-hitter as El Reno High School’s baseball team capped off the regular season with an 8-0 shutout of Santa Fe South. El Reno, with its second win in the past 10 games, will now take a 14-18 season record into the postseason.

OKLAHOMA CITY – El Reno High School boys soccer team’s come-from- behind run to get into the postseason came to a halt last week as the Indians dropped a 4-0 match to Santa Fe South in the opening round of the Class 5A playoffs.

PIEDMONT – El Reno High School’s track team split forces last week for the 2021 Suburban Conference Track and Field Championships, with several young thinclads competing in the freshman division.

A strong afternoon round was enough to send two El Reno High School golfers to the 2021 Class 5A Boys State Golf Championships. Playing in the Class 5A West Regional at Duncan Golf and Tennis Club, Dallon Biswell and Bryan Richardson qualified for state as individual medalists.

For the first time in over five seasons, El Reno High School’s tennis team will be represented by a doubles squad at the Class 5A Girls State High School Championships. Seniors Kenzie Holsted and Riley Connor took fourth place in No.1 doubles out of the Duncan regional.

Redlands Community College’s baseball team won one of two games in Tishomingo recently to avoid being swept by Murray State College during NJCAA Region 2, Division 2 action. The Cougars dropped both games in El Reno by scores of 4-2 and 19-5.

Redlands Community College’s soccer team continues to battle through a losing streak which has now stretched to 10 matches after recent road setbacks to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and Rose State College.

Larry Quisenberry of El Reno pulled a 46-pound blue catfish from Lake El Reno. The catch was made April 27 about 2:30 p.m. The fish measured 47 1/2 inches and Quisenberry said he used shad as the bait.

Despite cutting 17 shots off its score from the first time playing the Aqua Canyon Course at the Cimarron Nation Golf Club, El Reno High School’s girls golf team fell short of the mark needed to make state.

El Reno High School’s tennis team closed out the regular season last week by scoring 32 points at the 2021 Lawton MacArthur Highlander Classic. Played at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center, El Reno placed 10th overall, finishing ahead of Anadarko and Purcell.
