Services for Robert Edward Palmer were held Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Revs. Donald Hefta and Aaron Kotila officiating.

Burial with military honors followed at the El Reno Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Bob was born Dec. 6, 1933, on the family farm north of El Reno. He graduated from El Reno High School in 1952, where he played basketball coached by Jenks Simmons.

Peter Marquez

Body

Prayer service for Peter Marquez will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14 at St. John Nepomuk Church in Yukon, with Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John with Rev. Rex Arnold and Deacon John Teague officiating.

Burial will be in the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Mr. Marquez died Sept. 7, 2020, at his home in Yukon. He was born Feb. 16, 1953, in El Reno and lived here until the early 1970s when he moved to Yukon.

Joy Ellen Canon

Body

Joy Ellen Canon was born Sept. 3, 1931, near Calumet, the daughter of Edward Loy and Edith (Andersen) Spear.

An elementary schoolteacher, her career took her to Hutchinson, Kan., and later, while working for the Department of Defense Dependent School System, to Okinawa, Japan, and Ulm, Germany. After her retirement, she returned to Calumet. She enjoyed a simple life living on the farm, caring for her pets and joining friends for coffee at the 270 Cafe.

Joy died Aug. 25, 2020, at Willowood Assisted Living in Mustang.

Ella Mae Reese

Body

Wake service for Ella Mae Reese was held Thursday at the Geary Community Building, with graveside services on Friday at the Pedro Family Cemetery in Calumet. Services were under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Ella died Aug. 27, 2020, at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, N.M. She was born Feb. 18, 1944, in Concho.  She resided in Oklahoma City before moving to Taos in 2019. She was a homemaker and member of the Native American Church.

Survivors include her sister, Linda Gomez of Taos, and brother, David Pedro, also of Taos.

Mark Myers

Body

Mark C Myers, a lifetime resident of El Reno, passed from this life on August 29, 2020, at the age of 69. Mark was born to parents Frank and Jonnie Myers on October 7, 1950, at the El Reno Sanitarium.

He graduated from El Reno High School in 1968, from ERJC in 1972, and attended Southwestern.

Jeannie Walbaum-Boren

Graveside services for Jeannie (Mashaney) Walbaum-Boren will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 in the Geary Cemetery with Pastor Travis Ewton officiating. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Jeannie was born Dec. 24, 1928, to Walter and Mary Mashaney in Hobart, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 27, 2020, in Russellville, Ark. Jeannie graduated from Hinton High in 1947. She worked as an accountant until her retirement.

Martha Hall

Martha Raye (McMichael) Hall was born to Carroll and Florence McMichael on July 31, 1940, in Blackjack, Texas, and passed away Aug. 20, 2020, in Yukon.

Martha graduated from Galena Park High School in 1958. On March 20, 1959, she married the love of her life, Wayne Hall, and together they had two children.

Martha loved the Lord and enjoyed attending Highland Baptist Church. She loved being there with her church family and was blessed to have them in her life.

Lois Markle

Body

Graveside services for Lois Mae Markle of Oklahoma City will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco.

Lois passed away Aug. 25, 2020, at the Sommerset Assisted Living Center in Oklahoma City. She was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Ralston. Lois was raised in the Ralston community and graduated from Ralston High School in 1939. She had operated Markle’s Grocery in Minco.

She is survived by her son, Steve Warren of Checotah; daughter, Sandra Walker of Moore; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Larry Johnson

Graveside services for Larry Ray Johnson will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco.

Mr. Johnson passed away Aug. 7, 2020, at Integris Deaconess Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born Sept. 18, 1954, in Chickasha.

In 1984, Larry began his career at Tinker Air Force Base, where he was a member of the Junk Yard Dogs. He continued his employment at Tinker Air Force Base until retirement in 2015.
