John Leon Lucus attended El Reno schools and graduated from El Reno High School in 1938.
He served in the 252nd Quartermaster Remount Squadron and was based at Fort Reno for 14 months, so he has a doubly strong connection to the history of the city.
Clarence Finley Blanton was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force and Commander at Lima Site 85, 1043rd Radar Evaluation Squadron, 7th Air Force.

Dan Castrop, 97, served in the Merchant Marines from 1945-46. He was stationed in California.
He then served in the U.S. Army, having re-enlisted for an 18-month tour at the conclusion of the war.
He was stationed then in Japan, operating vehicles to transport different units of service from one location to the next. Castrop had to learn the safest and quickest routes to move the troops and to avoid being ambushed.
