C&A Tribes hold MMIP Parade, Day

Body

Along Black Kettle Road, red dresses swayed gently, dancing in the wind like silent sentinels.

Hung from trees with intention and grief, these dresses serve as a symbol. Bold, vivid and not easily ignored, they remind of a crisis that has shaken Indigenous communities across the country, the ongoing epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples (MMIP).

For the fifth consecutive year, the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes hosted the MMIP Parade and Remembrance Day.

Advocates, supporters and family members walked in remembrance of loved ones
