A charity golf tournament will directly benefit Canadian County’s child advocacy center. SPM Mathena’s Sixth Annual Two-Person Golf Scramble will be Friday, Sept. 26 at Crimson Creek Golf Course. There will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

All proceeds will benefit the Child Abuse Response Team (C.A.R.T.), which provides a neutral, quiet and caring home environment for child survivors of physical and sexual abuse.

SPM Mathena’s Two-Person Scramble for the C.A.R.T. House is limited to 36 teams.

Emily Beesley is committed to helping grow Oklahoma’s economy - one small business at a time.

Beesley, who was the featured speaker at the July 10 Yukon Chamber of Commerce membership luncheon, advises clients across Canadian County and five other counties as a business development adviser with the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

A week after hosting the big boats for Smoke on the Water, Lake El Reno was the site for the 2025 Oklahoma Shootout.

The event was hosted by the Oklahoma City R/C Power Boaters Association and featured scaled replicas of larger speed boats.

The crafts were gas and electric powered.
