Lois Marie Ratliff-Lewis-Horn was born June 10, 1933, in Hough, Texas County, Oklahoma, to parents, Emey Mae Lemon-Ratliff and Simpson Archelous Ratliff. She peacefully departed this life on Aug. 26, 2025, to be with her Lord and Savior in her heavenly home. 

In 1951, Lois met and married Francis Eugene Horn, a sergeant in the Air Force, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Their marriage was a loving partnership of 34 years and blessed them with four sons: Gary Lee, born in 1952; Steven Eugene, born in 1953; Jesse Elbert, born in 1957; and Darrell Ray, born in 1967.

ER spikers face string of ranked foes in tourney

While its overall record fell under a winning percentage, El Reno High School’s volleyball team, ranked No.14 in Class 5A, had a successful run in the recent Sapulpa Invitational.

After a rough opening day of 1-4, El Reno rallied with a 2-0 mark on day two to close with a 3-4 record.

The Indians defeated Tulsa Memorial (25-12/25-12), Noble (25-15/23-25/15-8) and McAlester (25-15/25-18).

The losses were to Class 5A’s No.9 Shawnee, No.6 Sapulpa and No.4 Claremore.

Glenpool, ranked No.10 in 4A, defeated EHS in straight games.

Redlands remains undefeated with win over Missouri team

Body

Redlands Community College women’s soccer team remains undefeated on the 2025 season after posting a 2-1 victory over Missouri-based Crowder College.

The Cougars improved to 2-0-1 following a 2-2 tie with Garden City Community College out of Kansas.

Redlands never trailed in the win over Crowder as Ashanti Lewis scored an unassisted goal, followed by the same from Danielle Cameron.

The goals were part of a 16-shot effort by the Cougars, five of which were on goal.

Union City stays in Class A poll, Okarche, Calumet post mixed results

Posting a 2-2 record in the Hinton Invitational, Union City High School’s fast-pitch softball team remains in the top 20 of the Class A poll at No.17.

The Tigers, winners of four of their last six games, defeated Merritt (5-4) and Mount View Gotebo (9-1), but dropped games to Binger-Oney (4-1) and Lookeba-Sickles (5-3). Both squads are ranked in the top 20 in Class B.

Union City is now 10-4 on the season.

The Tigers offense posted a .364 average (28-of-77) en route to the 18-run effort. Mariah Ailey and Cassidy Taylor logged doubles as the lone extra base hits.
