In a game which played a huge part in determining the 2020 Suburban Conference Championship, El Reno High School’s girls basketball team let a huge opportunity slip through its grasp.
Trailing top-ranked Piedmont by 13 at halftime, El Reno went on a 7-0 run to start the third period before the Indians offense hit a brick wall that eventually led to a 53-40 loss.
“I think we let the officiating bother us. Piedmont gave us chances but we have got to put the ball in the hole.
Junior Darius Moore made a basket and free throw with 13.5 seconds left to help El Reno High School’s boys basketball team snap a three-game losing streak with a 44-38 win over Piedmont.
However, the three plays that preceded Moore’s clutch delivery were equally important for the Indians, who were looking for their second win in Suburban Conference action.
With El Reno holding a slim 40-38 lead, Piedmont missed two shots at either a tie or the lead before EHS post player Kolton Hunt pulled down a rebound.
The second annual El Reno Night to Shine Prom will be held Friday evening at the Lincoln Learning Center.
