Springtime in Oklahoma means the threat of severe weather.

El Reno Police Chief Ken Brown said last week residents with storm shelters need to register them with the city so rescue teams know where to search in the event a major tornado strikes.

Brown made the comments as part of the El Reno Live program hosted weekly by Mayor Matt White. The program airs at 3 p.m. each Thursday on the city’s Facebook site. It can also be viewed on the Tribune Facebook site.
