Stitt touts state’s growing film, television, music industry with bills

With the ceremonial signing of SB 608 creating the “Filmed in Oklahoma Act of 2021” last week, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt declared Aug. 3 as “Film Day” in Oklahoma. 

“I am optimistic that the success of our thriving film and music industries will continue to flourish through this incentive program,” said Gov. Stitt.

Couple announce plans to marry

Jennifer Sorrels of Calumet and Michael Cosgrove of Broken Arrow announce their plans to marry in an intimate ceremony on Sept. 18.

Sorrels is the daughter of Mark and Sherry Sorrels of Calumet. A 2007 graduate of Calumet Public Schools, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Community and Public Health from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2013.

She is currently employed with Gemini Industries in the accounting department.

Finnigan family holds reunion

The 120 descendants of Elmo and Agnes Finnigan held their annual reunion recently at Roman Nose State Park.

Attending were their children, Tim and Danella Finnigan, Pat and Cheryl Finnigan, Willie and Kathleen Finnigan Baeriswyl, Peggy Finnigan Wahweah, Terry and Lorie Finnigan and Jimmy and Sheila Finnigan Cowan.

Class of ’56 sets picnic gathering

Members of the El Reno High School Class of 1956 will gather for a picnic set for 10:20 a.m. Aug. 19 at Lake El Reno.

Join the group for a fried onion hamburger and to relive good times.

The class is planning a homecoming gathering Sept. 10 at the Old Central Pavilion across from Lucas Hall. Members are preparing a float to join in the EHS Homecoming Parade.
