SHAWNEE – After missing the last two baseball championship games due to rehab stints from labrum injuries, Calumet High School junior Brendon Voss had been waiting on the right pitch to feel like he was back in top-notch form.

That pitch finally came, in all places, the finals.

Voss hit a three-run homer to left field in the top of the third inning to break a scoreless deadlock and spark No.1 Calumet to a 7-3 win over No.2 Fort Cobb-Broxton in the title game of the Class B Oklahoma State High School Baseball Championships.

El Reno High School senior Mya Robles took second place in the Class 5A West Regional over the weekend in the shot put and earned a ticket to the Class 5A state meet.

However, the Class 5A shot put is scheduled for Saturday morning at the same time El Reno Public Schools is slated to hold its graduation exercises.

El Reno track coach Paul Raupe has made an appeal to the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) in hopes of allowing Robles to either throw later Saturday after graduation or possibly with another class on Friday.
